I visited the SED Labs on Monday. I was frustrated with your new check-in policies. I intentionally arrived at 6:30 am at your Jefferson office. I wait and wait. I’m expected to produce my Driver’s License and insurance card. The clerk takes a photo copy which is OK–if that’s what you need.
Then, someone else comes out with the famous Privacy Form. I look it over again and sign. Someone else calls me to get my lab submittal form. They take it and begin the process of logging me in.
In my last visit I was helped by the new clerk. She didn’t know how to proceed with all of this on the computer. It made me #4 to gain admittance.
While this was going on, another one of your clients wanted to go ahead of me because he, too, thought he had waited LONG enough.
Formerly, you hired one phlebotomist. She was capable of being the first clerk, the second clerk, the third clerk, the manager, and the phlebotomist. She confided once that it would be nice to have another phlebotomist.
Unfortunately, she left because of a hostile employee.
My solution: Get your log-in people to come to work 1/2 hour earlier. Tell the clients that the phlebotomists arrive at 7 am. Make this a friendly experience.
